Folligen Overview

Folligen is a drug free hair loss treatment similar to Tricomin. It contains copper peptides that benefit scalp health, hair health and vitality, reduce hair shedding, and stimulate hair growth. Folligen is not FDA approved, however studies at over 30 Universities and Medical Research Institutes by Dermatologists have established the effectiveness of copper peptides.

Folligen was first intended as a skin care and skin repair cream. However, while under development at the University of California it was discovered that Folligen was an effective hair loss treatment. This discovery occurred when a 41-year-old women with severe hair loss found she regained much of her hair back in two and a half months while using Folligen. Others have reported similar results.

The evidence is showing that the topical treatment of vital nutrients (notably copper), directly onto the scalp and hair follicles can lead to healthier, thicker hair growth. Folligen’s main product, "Folligen Therapy Spray" contains heavy amounts of vital blue copper peptides. Two other products, "Folligen Lotion" and "Folligen Cream" were developed to be effective in areas of dense and less dense areas respectively, such as hairlines. The Folligen Therapy Spray contains small amounts of polysorbate 20 and propylene glycol, which aid in the uptake of copper peptides at the base of the hair follicle.

Is Folligen Safe?

Both men and women can use Folligen. Folligen side effects include minor irritation, which may result from an allergic response. For this reason it's recommended to start slowly with Folligen.

How to use Folligen

Folligen is applied at bedtime as a fine mist directly on the scalp where thinning is occurring, and shampooed out in the morning. If the product is used four times per week this is sufficient to achieve positive results, as reported by satisfied users.

In women Folligen can be used alone or with Minoxidil. In men it can be useful in reducing scalp irritation which can be caused from Rogaine, Propecia, Proscar or Retin-A.

Folligen Results

Folligen has shown the best results with men between 25 and 40. Hair shedding can stop within a month and some report hair re-growth after 4 months. An increase in the thickness of hair shafts is report along with reduced scalp inflammation and seborrheic dermatitis. In women the best age group is between 40 and 70. A similar reduction is shedding after the first month is reported as well as improved thickness of hair shafts. Some have reported strong hair regrowth.
