Crinagen
Natural Hair Loss Remedy
Crinagen Overview
Crinagen is an all-natural hair loss treatment that acts as a DHT inhibitor and helps nourish hair follicles by promoting circulation. Crinagen contains zinc, saw palmetto, azelaic acid, vitamin B6, ginkgo biloba and proanthocyanidins from grape seed extract, amongst other ingredients.
Similar to other DHT inhibitors this product blocks the activity of 5-alpha reductase, the enzyme responsible for the conversion of testosterone to
dihydrotestosterone,
(DHT). Most researchers believe that DHT is responsible for the progressive miniaturiztion and thinning of hair follicles associated with
androgenic alopecia.
By blocking the activity of 5-alpha reductase, Crinagen reduces hair loss and promotes hair growth. Crinagen has the added advantage of having several active ingredients that collectively help block those factors detrimental to hair growth.
Crinagen is a topical treatment that can be used by both men and women. The product has shown positive results in clinical trials yet is not FDA approved.
Is Crinagen Safe?
Safe for both men and women. There are no known side effects.
How to use Crinagen
Crinagen is a natural, alcohol free, topical scalp preparation. A one month spray comes in a 4 oz. bottle. This product can be used by both men and women, however women should ensure that they have been professionally diagnosed with androgenetic alopecia. Crinagen can be used alone or with other hair growth stimulators such as minoxidil
(Rogaine)
or finasteride
(Propecia),
the latter being another DHT inhibitor for men only. Crinagen is compatible with these products and has been shown to help reduce the scalp irritation that they may cause. Crinagen is sold by itself and not with an accompanying shampoo. Anti-inflammatory shampoos such as
Nizoral
are recommended either in a 1 or 2 % solution. Nizoral shampoo has the added benefit of being an effective immunosuppressant.
Crinagen Results
Crinagen by itself, a DHT inhibitor, has the long-term effect of maintenance and cessation of fallout. This product can have growth promoting properties when used in combination with
Minoxidil,
Tricomin or
Folligen.
Control of hair loss can be expected within 4 to 6 months. DHT inhibitors by the nature of their actions take a minimum of 3 months of use before hair loss can be stabilized. The newly improved Crinagen with azelaic acid and proanthocyanidins was reported in a British Journal of Dermatology to reduce DHT by up to 98%.
