Incidence of Male Pattern Baldness
Men by Age
|
The majority of men will suffer some form of hair loss in their lifetime. As their age increases the incidence of hair loss also increases. A common concern for many men is whether their loss of hair is less or more compared to other men of their age group. The following table helps to answer that question. In this table the percentage of the male population with hair loss is compared across age groups and shown by the severity of loss, either early, moderate or advanced.

The table illustrates that approximately 12% of males in their 20's suffer from hair loss in the early and moderate stages. This figure increases to over 50% with men in their 50's. Treating hair loss early is an important consideration.
